• The Keeper is cheap! It costs $30, but it lasts for 10 years. Therefore, you'll be spending only $.25 a month of menstrual products, which is surely much less than any other method!
• The Keeper is re-usuable, so you won't be adding your pads to our landfills or your tampons to our oceans. Besides, you'll never again realize too late that you're out of pads or tampons.
• The Keeper does not absorb, so it doesn't alter the vaginal environment by sucking up vital lubricants and secretions, the way that tampons do.
• The Keeper is not chlorine bleached, like most mainstream menstrual products, so you won't have to worry about dioxins poisoning your body, and you won't be contributing to them poisoning the planet.
• The Keeper is comfortable... you really can't feel it when you are wearing it.
• The Keeper has a money back guarentee, so if you hate it, just send it back. Most people give you a 3 month time period to do this, but I'm just so wacky, I'll accept a return after any amount of time (as long as you're not a creep and send it back after 9 1/2 years).* I feel safe to offer this, because after distributing them for over 8 years, and selling several hundred Keepers, I've only had 3 returned.

And here's the not so good news:

• There is a slight TSS risk with the Keeper. According to the company, there has never been a reported TSS case linked to the Keeper. However, it was tested by Dr. Phillip Tierno, and he found that the staph. that causes TSS could possible sling to the porous material of the Keeper. Regardless, the chances are still lower than with a mainstream tampon.
• It can be messy to change in a public restroom.
• If you don't break the seal properly, the suction will make it REALLY hurt when you try and take it out. This happened to me and to about 6 other people that I've spoken to. Be sure to break the seal, and you won't have to worry about this!
• If you have a really full bladder or you are constipated, the Keeper can get knocked out of place and leak.
• It only comes in 2 sizes, so it might not fit you perfectly. I've only had this happen to one woman, so it's relatively uncommon.
• It takes some practice to get it in and out properly.
• You shouldn't use the Keeper if you have an allergy to rubber.

If you want to use the safest menstrual product, I'd say to go for some washable pads. But if you want to use something internal and something that is more convenient than pads, go ahead and give the Keeper a try! If you hate it, I will send your money back. * Here's something new that I must mention, regarding returns. To give some background information, some women feel more comfortable wearing The Keeper if they trim the "tail" on it a bit. I am one of those women. However, I've just been told by The Keeper company that they have recently changed their return policy. They will no longer accept any returned Keepers if the buyer has cut more than half of the tail off. Basically, how the return process works is that you send your Keeper back to me, I return your money, I mail the used Keeper back to the company, and they send me a new one as a replacement. So, if you return one to me that has the tail cut more than half way off, I'm basically going to have to be responsible for buying the Keeper anyway. I'm not sure now how to best handle this. I really don't feel comfortable telling women NOT to trim the "tail" as much as they please, because it really may make the difference between being comfortable or not. I also don't want to deny anyone the chance to return a Keeper if need be, just because they trimmed the "tail" in a valiant effort to make it work for them. So, since I get so few returns as it is, I'll work this one a case by case basis. If you want to return a Keeper with more than half of the "tail" trimmed off, just email me and we'll work something out, even if it means I have to eat the cost. I can do this, since a return only happens once every couple of years to me. But I just wanted to make this public information!
